course schedule update

dearest class.

here are the tutorials for revit that group1 will begin tomorrow.
required: [do both, not just one or the other.]
http://www.dgcad.com/Revit8.asp
and
http://www.dgcad.com/Revit5-3DHouse.htm

optional for extra credit:[both need to be done for credit, since they are both short.]http://www.dgcad.com/Revit9-KeyNotes.asp
and
http://www.dgcad.com/Revit9-Detailing.asp

group one should finish these tutorials BEFORE class begins on tuesday! so group 1, you are revit thursday, friday and monday. starting tuesday you will begin [again] to work in form_z and you will have tuesday, wednesday and thursday to finish your form_z stuff.

group two you will finish form_Z BEFORE class on monday [thurs, fri, mon] and you will be doing the revit tutorials in class until thursday [so, your revit days are tues, wed, thurs].

group1: david, austin, ronny, berkley, eric and richard geer.
group2: terri, brianna, derek, ryan, scott and blake.

form_z preference will be given to those in the allocated group on their assigned day.
nights and weekends will be NEEDED to finish all of this in time.

we are pushing it to fit everything in. the final week[ish] of class [fri, mon, tues&wed] will be split between lighting and animation in 3ds_max, and individual presentations.

we will discuss the details of the presentations tomorrow [i.e. you will get your topic and be able to start]. we will only do one presentation each [about 10 minutes in length] and it will be a bit of a variety of topics between architects, theorists, etc.

we also have some quizzings to do before we wrap up, so you can show me what you know. the first quiz will take place on monday. it will be over the basic form_z stuff we have encountered thus far. the next quizzes will take place on next friday and they will be over form_z in a bit more detail and over the revit tutorials. so yes you will take two on friday, and yes that will make 3 quizzes in one week.

so here's the basic schedule for the remainder of the term:

revit intro form_z outro:
bisbim tutorials finer modeling and finishig techniques.
from now until the end of class a week from tomorrow. [7.26-7.30 7.31-8.2]

3dstudio max:
basic into lighting rendering animation
from next friday through mondaytuesday of the follwing week. [8.3-8.68.7]

personal research presentations:
over assigned topic, article, person.
the last 2 days of class. [8.7-8.8]

quiz1:monday 7.30 - form_z basics.
quiz2:friday 8.03 - form_z details.
quiz3:friday 8.03 - revit basics.
final: last day of class if time, otherwise on assigned morning. this will be comprehensive, but focus more readily on unquized materials [max, presentations].

if we finish then we will not meet at our allocated final exam time [8am]. if we do not finish everything we will need to. so, there's your incentive to work hard for the next two weeks.

we will, as always, meet as a class during our normal class hours from 2-3.30 everyday through wednesday 8.8.07.

now it's really time to work, so let's get rolling!

sincerely,
josh nason
